How to pass a prop firm challenge: rules first, entries second.
A challenge is a rules test with a profit target on top. Traders usually fail on the drawdown, a consistency limit or position size, not on their entries. This page covers the method. The firm guides below apply it to each firm's current rules, pulled from their official pages.
The 5 rules that end most attempts
- Trailing drawdown. The floor follows your best balance (end-of-day or in real time). Profit you give back still counts against you.
- Daily loss limit. On firms that have one, one bad morning ends the day, or the account.
- Consistency rules. Your best day can't be more than a set share of your total profit, so one lucky day doesn't pass you.
- Position limits and news restrictions. Too many contracts, or holding through a restricted release, can fail you even when you're in profit.
- Time rules. Being flat by the cut-off, minimum trading days, the access period.
The method in 4 steps
- Size from the drawdown. Risk a small, fixed share of the max drawdown per trade (for example 5 to 10%), with the stop set from volatility (ATR), not from hope.
- One setup, one market. Order flow (footprint, delta, absorption) shows who is actually trading at a level. That's the edge the course teaches from zero.
- Ordinary days. Plan to hit the target over several sessions so consistency rules never bite.
- Know the true cost. Budget for more than one attempt. Use the calculator.

FAQ
Can you pass a prop firm challenge in one day?
Some firms allow it on paper; many have a consistency rule or a minimum number of days that makes it impossible or risky. Check the firm guide below. Trying to pass in one day usually means oversizing, which is the most common way to fail.
What is the most common reason people fail?
Position size relative to the drawdown. A trailing drawdown punishes big swings, and a few oversized losses end the attempt before any strategy has a chance to work.
Is there a strategy that always passes?
No. Anyone promising a guaranteed pass, a "100% success rate" or a passing service is a red flag, and passing services usually break the firm's terms.
Pass the rules. Then trade the chart.
Prop Pass Blueprint: order flow from zero, the rules that fail accounts, ATR sizing, and the true-cost math. $49. 14-day refund.
No pass guarantee. Educational only, not financial advice. Futures and CFD trading involve substantial risk of loss; most evaluation participants never receive a payout.
